Fishing in Carmarthenshire
Gilfach Wen is within easy reach of two major rivers with Carmarthenshire. Both have helpful angling associations and are famous for sea trout and salmon.
The Tywi (or in English - Towy) The nearest access to this river is at Nantgaredig, about 10 minutes drive away, but one of its main tributary is the River Cothi running through Brechfa village.
The River Teifi . The nearest access to this river is at Llandysul or Llanybydder. Both are a 20 to 25 minute scenic drive.
There are a number of fishing lakes in the area.
