Gilfach Wen Barn - Brechfa, has been converted to provide competitively priced self-catering accommodation for individuals, extended families or groups on a working farm adjacent to Brechfa Forest.
Brechfa has been described as one of the most secluded villages in South Wales but is just 25 mins drive from the M4. Brechfa Forest was origionally a royal hunting forest in the 6th century, but is now managed by the Forestry Commision.
Brechfa Forest is the largest man made forest in Europe providing circular walks and world famous mountain bike trails as well as 18,000 acres of off road riding for equestrian. This part of Carmarthenshire is also famous for its fishing.
Sleeping upto 31 between 7 bedrooms plus a large kitchen/dining room, lounge and drying room. There is a downstairs bedroom and shower for disabled visitors. The facilities are purpose designed to be walker, cyclist and equestrian friendly as well as proving a relaxing space for those who just want to spend time with family and friends.
Gilfach Wen Barn is a perfect venue for a holiday or weekend away – if you do not want to drive you need never leave the valley. The barn is fully equipped and Brechfa village shop is within walking distance.
If you are a little more adventurous, then Wales is not just about activity holidays. This is a stunningly beautiful area and is far less commercialised than a national park. Within a short drive there are numerous scenic and historical sites and fun things to do for all the family.
